Highland cows
Beloved by Scots and visitors alike, the iconic Highland cattle (or ‘Hielan coos’ in Scots) make for a popular roadside attraction across the country. With their shaggy coats and prominent horns, these cows are a hardy breed, happy to face the wild weather of northern Scotland! Highland cattle are thought to have been kept since the 6th century.
